i cherish,

i kiss the brisk air, feeling it seep into my skin

i smell the fresh and touch the free

wide palms, open hearts

i embrace the winds and bliss

i fleet and i swim

flutter

eyes closed, mouth agape.

i can’t hear nor see

hovering feet, twinkling toes.

i am, i wish, i am.

time and time again

i feel.

heaviness crushes my bones

i taste the earth between my toes

and the weight of the power i hold

tight core and eyes open

i struggle to breathe.

but i live, i feel, i live.

i long for freedom, for my leashes to break

i long for air and my body to soar

but what is lightness without being grounded

what is air if I breathe it alone

what is freedom if I can only be ?
