Down on my knees,
I weep for a love long past.
The way autumn caresses your cheeks,
The way it brings change unasked.
Possible to find
The dreams of desperate chase.
Lost in prayers of such kindness
You so softly lent me, skin left barely hazed.
The winds adhere to none, still blowing gently,
Perks of life unlived seen through the eyes of coastal entry.
Creaking sounds, the taste of particular disdain—
Whispering and telling,
Just near the south of May:
Falling petals, rustling lightly through the rivers,
Colours blooming,
Through the god of Ibis.
Bay of plenty gushing loud with secrets
Underwater currents; absolutely no discreetness.
In the winter, I shall peel the clementines and ponder
How the seasons passing gives it wonder.
Quaking skin, shivers through the clouds in haze,
Noting versions of a life
Left just outside your daze.
Scenic views of mountains – they’ll remain imposed,
Just as you, I’m sure,
So carefully, and notably composed.
How is it that they’re always right, figurative notions of his speech?
Love can leave you guessing
In such a painfully,
Distinctive
Reach.
