As the leaves that fall and the waters that freeze,
Her heart is cold beneath the breeze.
It slowly cracks, and it hurts;
She’s afraid it might tumble and burst.
Too scared to fall, too scared to try,
Too scared to breathe or open her eyes.
Too scared, but then there they were,
Coming with a soft and comforting fire.
And there she was with all around her,
Friends brushing away the blur.
Calm and sweet night––
Loneliness left and here was light.
